Guest book for Lane End Cottage.
We're from Sydney Australia. My son and I spent some days at Lane End Cottage last year (2023) visiting family close by. The cottage was so wonderful that this time 3 of us came in August 2024. Again, we were visiting family in the hamlet across the valley. It was a perfect base for us to walk across to visit her every day. The cottage is excellently fitted out, has views and walking countryside to die for and Danielle is the perfect host. We'll be back.
Brought my girlfriend here for a little getaway on her birthday and we were far from disappointed. The cottage is beautiful, clean and very well kept. But I was mostly impressed by the host Danielle and how friendly and readily available to help she was. Honestly the best host I've encountered personally. Thank you for helping me make my girlfriend's birthday one to remember!
my 4th time at lane end cottage and another tremendous stay. Danielle is very helpful and thoughtful providing a spotless cottage and nice hamper upon arrival. even a lovely surprise for my sons birthday. great facilities, lovely location, lots of places to eat and activities for kids and adults to enjoy. well recommended and will be returning in the near future. lovely UK break.
My wife and I spent two weeks at the Cottage in late June and early July this year. We had wanted a base in the Holme Valley area where we could entertain family and friends and pursue family history research - my family lived in the immediate area in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.
The cottage fitted our needs perfectly. Danielle made us feel very welcome and took great trouble to ensure that we had everything we needed - the welcome basket was a lovely touch. It was comfortable, quiet and well appointed - almost like being at home!
The sweeping views across the surrounding countryside were commented on by all our guests - and the views were always changing. A truly spectacular outlook.
For me, one of the highlights was being able to look out of the bedroom window and see the farmhouse where my great (x4) grandfather once lived.

We just wrapped up an incredible 4-night stay at Lane End Cottage! This charming retreat was the perfect escape for our entire family. From the moment we arrived, Danielle, our warm and welcoming host, made us feel right at home. The cottage was immaculate and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We were especially impressed by the stunning views that greeted us from every room – even the bathroom offered breathtaking scenery! The tranquil setting allowed us to unwind and reconnect, while our children had a blast making friends with the cows across the street. We even enjoyed fresh eggs and strawberries from the neighboring farm – a delightful bonus! If you're looking for a peaceful getaway with a gracious host, we highly recommend Lane End Cottage. We can't wait to return!
Our second time visiting this lovely cottage, once again brilliant stay, very clean, spacious and decided to stay a little longer than the first time. Our kids 5 and 1 enjoyed their stay Our 5 year old requested when are we going again as he loved the cottage. Lots of things to do nearby, Danielle is always quick to respond to any questions and always makes guests feel welcome. We look forward to our next visit in 2024.
I don't think I can put into words repeatedly how amazing this house is.... I would stay all day everyday for the rest of my life if I could.
This cottage was amazing, the host was so helpful and accommodating. The location is so peaceful. You could not ask for a better, cleaner or well equipped cottage. I would recommend to everyone!
We had a great time, at this beautiful house. The views were amazing, and the house was clean and well kept. It was more than we expected. We will be visiting again. The host Danielle is really helpful and responded quickly to any queries we had. If you want to get away, relax and enjoy the countryside this property is ideal.
What a fantastic property, just perfect for the family wedding attended just a few miles away. Danielle is a really great accommodating host with a key eye for detail and shared excellent local guides/taxi firm details /restaurants recommendations. Our family loved the property so much also . A wonderful house with all amenities - calm and beautiful with views to contemplate and enjoy all the year round , I could live here.
The experience prior to arrival and during our stay was fantastic. We received detailed information about the check in process and things to do when we arrived, which catered for everyone. When we arrived at the property, the views and property itself were amazing. Everything was immaculate and you could not have wished for more. The property is so peaceful and decorated to a very high standard. Our host Danielle was fantastic and catered for every need. We will definitely be coming back, and we have recommended lots of friends and family also. Perfect property, perfect location and great hosts!
